Our Summer is just about to begin! In one week to be exact and we're super excited to take a break from all of the school work and curriculum. Our Summer is full of crafting, science experiments, and learning of a hands-on variety. It's the time of year that we get to call the shots, enjoy doing things at our own pace, and spend lots of time with our friends who are off for their Summer break too.
This year is going to be a little different, with me one small step away from bed rest and not being able to move around much more than an hour at a time thanks to the smallest short stack. So this year we're taking a break from the usual hustle and bustle of running around and lots of walking-around-outings during the week. That doesn't mean we will skip the outside fun or walking for hours, it just means poor mom has to suck it up at home watching Netflix and catching up on reading. While Pops McGops will be picking up the slack and taking Pie on the more physically demanding activities.
We'll also be focusing on our reading lists this year, since Pie is well on her way to reading chapter books on her own. And I've got a stack of ridiculous YA, teen drama, and supernatural books I'd like to dive into myself. Look for a few great Summer reading chapter book suggestions for 2nd through 4th grade coming up soon.
